Finding Success Out West

PJ Morgan Real Estate agents Ryan Ellis and Derick Lewin recently leased 13660 California St., a 51,000 plus sq. ft. commercial building, to one of Nebraska’s largest private firms, The Scoular Company.

Ellis and Lewin’s client, Diplomat, initially contacted them to sublease the 17,424 sq. ft. top floor of the California Street building. Soon after they began working on the assignment, Diplomat was purchased by United Health Group, and they notified Ellis and Lewin that the entire building was now available for sublease.  

Ellis and Lewin acted quickly within a challenging commercial leasing environment to meet the evolving needs of their clients. Ryan and Derick contacted agents for Scoular Company, a global grain trading firm, and successfully negotiated a long-term lease for the entire 51,733 sq. ft. property that satisfied the needs of all the parties involved. 

Ryan Ellis

In addition to his role as CEO, Ryan leads the commercial sales team, helping longtime friends and clients with residential sales and participating in redevelopment projects throughout the Omaha area. You’ll also find him participating in community non-profits such as the Omaha Conservatory of Music and College Possible. Ryan cherishes the opportunity real estate offers him to have an impact on the community he loves.

Derick Lewin

Derick has been in the real estate industry since 2010 when he joined PJ Morgan Real Estate. In 2018 and 2019 combined, he represented nearly $30MM in sales. He is extremely active in the Omaha real estate community and is a board member of the Midlands Regional Commercial Information Exchange, an organization that was created with the focus of bringing the Omaha and Lincoln commercial markets together.
