Go ice skating at the skate ribbon: Skate around the Christmas trees at the Skate Ribbon at Heartland of America Park. They offer rental skates, or you can bring your own.
Attend Bright Nights at Lauritzen Gardens: See the poinsettias at Lauritzen Garden’s annual Bright Nights event. Check out their website for a full list of dates, from Lights and Libations to Family Fun Nights, the gardens are a fun holiday tradition for all ages.
See the tree at The Durham Museum: Christmas at Union Station is here beginning November 29th to January 12th, 2025. Visit Santa, see the 40-foot-tall Christmas tree, and enjoy their concert series.
Visit Santa at The Hitch: Santa Claus is coming to The Hitch on Sunday, December 15, from 1pm to 4pm. Head over for an afternoon of festivities, enjoy hot cocoa, activities, and get photos taken with Mr. Claus himself. RSVP via the link here!
Stroll around the Old Market and Midtown: One of the best times to stroll around downtown is during the holiday season. Holiday lights downtown are some of the best. Grab dinner and enjoy the lights around the Old Market/Midtown area.
Attend a holiday parade in Elkhorn: Spend three full days celebrating the festivities of the season in Elkhorn for their Christmas Block Party. They have food trucks, live entertainment, a North Pole pop up, and on December 7th, they will be having their 43rd Christmas Card Town Parade.
See the reindeer at Mulhalls: See Santa’s reindeer up close at Mulhalls November 26th through December 16th. While there you shopf for the holidays with their selection of home goods, plants, and holiday décor.
Cut down a Christmas tree: There is something extra special about getting a real Christmas tree. Head over to Frosty Pines to find the perfect Christmas tree this season.
Rent an igloo at the Zoo: Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has transformed into a holiday wonderland with their annual Zoolightful event. It’s one of the best times of year at the zoo. Rent an igloo and make it extra memorable. Zoolightful runs from November 22 to December 30.
Drive through the lights at Werner Park: Santa’s Rockin Lights is the largest light show in Omaha. With over one mile of lights synchronized to music. Their drive thru light show is open November 22 to December 31.
